intro: the grain engine is an experimental 3D engine that I'm developing independently to implement and work with several well known real-time 3D graphics techniques as well as to explore and develop various "new" ideas i have. grain is not a game. nor will it likely ever be "finished". its a testbed, a tool if you will, for my research. it may evolve into more than this eventually.

  A Bit About Me...
My name is Kurt Miller. I'm 20 years old. Most of my time is spent in the world of programming, mathematics, and the internet. My primary interest related to programming is definitely in the field of computer graphics, more specifically real-time 3D. I also happen to run a fairly popular game development site: flipCode.

When I'm not programming or working on my web site(s), you'll find me listening to Beethoven, Tool, or Rage, drawing, painting, writing, playing various instruments, washing my hands, or losing myself in thought. I hope to get a scanner some day so that I can get more of my artwork online, but in the meantime, if you're interesting in seeing one of my sketches, click here. Its a little weird, but it was created as an llustration for a very odd story entitled "Am I Dancing Or Falling?". I plan on finishing and coloring it someday when I have some time.

Here are some random quotes for your enjoyment:
  • "12:45... restate my assumptions... " -Max/pi
  • "On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero." -Fight Club
  • "Choices always were a problem for you..." -Opiate/Tool
  • "You might think I’m weird and I don’t give a fuck; Cause I can scream it out, push it on my luck." -Miss Fortune/nbp
  • "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was convincing the world he didn't exist." -Verbal Kint/Usual Suspects
  • "Light speed is too slow." -Dark Helmet/Spaceballs
  • "Standing above the crowd, he had a voice that was strong and loud." -Eulogy/Tool
